At uke learning we pride ourselves in the provision of a high quality service to our clients and within this service the safety of our learners is of paramount importance.
- all uke learning employees have undertaken Enhanced CRB checks and where they are likely to work with learners under the age of 18, we make the mandatory check of List 99 and/or the Protection of Children Act PoCA) List
- All members of staff, no matter what their role, are trained to deliver health and safety to our learners and ensure their welfare
- Risk assessments in the workplace are completed by our Business Development Team and reviewed on an ongoing basis by our learning support teams who monitor and log any changes in the working environment that might impact upon health and safety
- We have a health and safety representative within the organisation who holds responsibility for adherence to health and safety in all processes and procedures throughout the organisation. This representative is a member of our Senior Management Team and is qualified to Level 3 CIEH also covering COSHH
- All equipment and mobile learning facilities are PAT tested
- We implement a number of standards and codes of practice including obtaining and using confidential information; relationships with clients and learners; and learner welfare. These are available to our clients on demand
- 100% of our internal verifiers & assessors are fully qualified and hold A and/or V awards. All assessors who are not yet qualified teachers are working towards appropriate preparing for teaching qualifications
- 100% of our teaching / tutor staff hold qualified teacher status awards, either Cert Eds or PGCEs and are either enrolled on or have achieved Level 3 and 4 qualifications in numeracy or literacy teaching for adult learners
- All of our teaching assistants support tutor activity and either have or are working towards appropriate preparing for teaching qualifications and level 2 supporting the adult learner award
