This document outlines uke learning’s information, advice and guidance service provision enabling customers to make the right decisions about training before, during and after working with us.
Aims
- To help employers and learners source the right training solutions to meet their needs.
- To engage hard to reach employers and learners in developing new skills and improving employability and job effectiveness.
- To help employers and learners access government funding where appropriate to support their training.
What we offer
- To provide high quality training solutions to businesses, individuals and representative organizations such as Connexions, Job Centre Plus, Chamber of Commerce.
- To provide impartial and easy to understand information, advice and guidance in a variety of formats on learning opportunities and the skills and opportunities needed to work within the following sectors: health and social care, customer service, construction, hairdressing, motor mechanics, IT, team leading and management, teaching and learning, business administration and skills for life.
- To provide occupationally competent staff who will be able to direct you to appropriate experts within our organisation who can help you access the information, advice and guidance you require and make the most of the opportunities we offer.
- To treat you with courtesy and respect at all times.
- To respect your right to confidentiality and the security of your personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
- To provide effective and reliable links to other competent organisations and services where the nature of the query, interest or concern is outside the scope of our capability/competence.
For Learners:
Our Business Development Advisors will provide you with a high quality and robust induction to your training which will help you to:
- Understand the training options that are available to you
- Choose the right training options for you
- Access the funding, support and help you need
- Determine whether you need to refresh your English and maths skills
- Complete your applications for funding, support and training
Our Learning Advisors (Assessors/Tutors) will provide you with ongoing support during your programme to assist your learning and personal development which includes helping you to:
- Identify any gaps in your knowledge or skills set
- Identify which qualification levels you should work towards
- Set goals and time frames for your learning journey
- Access your learning materials and understand where you are on your learning journey
- Regularly review your progress and goals
- Identify sector specific progression routes to progress towards meeting your career aspirations during training and when your training ends
- Access advice and services to enable you to study effectively if you have a disability or additional requirement
- Ensure your views and comments are heard and acted upon by asking you to complete surveys about your learning experience.
For Employers:
Our Business Development Advisors will help you to:
- Identify the training needs in your organization
- Identify the drivers for training and set goals for the desired outcomes
- Understand the training options that uke learning can provide for your staff
- Set criteria to identify which members of staff you will train
- Identify potential funding to contribute to the cost of training your staff
- Assess which members of staff may need to refresh English and maths skills using high quality, reliable assessment materials and recommend appropriate pathways to ensure training returns maximum benefit
- identify an appropriate time and place for training
- Understand the commitment you will need to make in terms of releasing staff to study throughout the duration of the training, maintaining minimum group sizes, encouraging staff to attend training sessions and provision of suitable training locations.
- Ensure your views and comments are heard and acted upon by asking you to complete surveys about your training experience.
Our Delivery Team Advisors will keep you informed about:
- Staff attendance
- Staff progress and achievement
- Any changes to the qualification type or level
- The certification process
- The functionality of the learning environment and any external issues which may have an impact on training outcomes or expected end dates
