uke learning have won a three year contract with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to offer training through the Train to Gain initiative in the East of England. Enabling over 600 learners to gain skills through employer led initiatives in the period 2008 / 2009, the contract will rise to over 2000 learners in the region over the three year period.
Covering a number of sectors including Retail, Business Management, ICT, Health and Social Care, Building and Construction, Hospitality and Catering; it will provide a major boost for businesses in the region, providing support to employers to develop their workforce through the delivery of Skills for Life, NVQ level 2 and NVQ level 3 qualifications in the workplace.
Train to Gain is a national skills service to support employers of all sizes and in all sectors to improve the skills of their employees as a route to improving their business performance. It is a commitment to jointly invest in training, by employers and Government. Train to Gain is intended to help employers to address the full breadth of their skills needs at all levels and across all kinds of provision in line with the skills requirements of the employer with public funding contributing to the delivery of these aspects of an employer’s skills needs that align with national and regional policy priorities.
